SPREAD works in Koraput district, which is south of Orissa. The district has 49.62 percent of Scheduled Tribes and 13.04 percent of Scheduled Castes population as per 2001 census. This district comes under the Scheduled area.According 2001 census, the district has a population of 11, 80,637 comprising 590,743 males and 589,894 females. 80.1 percent of population is below poverty line, with a literacy rate of 35.72 percent.Basing on the criterion of income poverty (poverty ratios), hunger, infant mortality rate, immunization, literacy rate, enrolment ratio and gender disparity (Highlighted through female and male literacy rate), 69 districts were identified to see the inter state disparities, in Bihar, Orissa, Jharkhad, Arunanchal, UP, MP and in Karataka, out of which 10 are in Orissa, and Korpaut is one of them. Spread works directly in 30-gram panchayats of 5 Blocks of the Koraput district.

At present the organization has five-field center in five blocks of Koraput district.
- Under Jolaput field center it is working in 10 GPs in Nadapure Block.
- Under Godihanjar Field center it is working in 13 GPs in Lamtaput Block.
- Under Ramgiri field center it is working in 3 GPs under Baipariguda Block.
- Under Suku field center it is working in 2 GPs in Koraput block.
- Under Paikaphulbeda field center it is working in 2 GP in Dasmantapur Block.
